Convert to Traditional Methods

15th January 2009
Recently, Edd has switched the use of his digital system in the landscape for a more traditional camera. The large format camera is a slow, cumbersome piece of equipment which requires thought and method to use effectively. The process of composition and technical aspects such as exposure and filtration are all controlled manually, resulting in more input and involvement with the camera and elements within the frame.

Its hardly suprising that most people are put off by taking one of these cameras on long treks into the landscape, as they are heavy and slow to set up in comparison to a digital SLR. But the feeling of seeing a good transparency on a light box is unrivaled by any, even uploading your photographs onto the computer minutes after taking them.
